Your last project and future project: how would you describe them?

My last EP “Solstice” was released this summer on Bpitch Control. Bpitch is one of my favorite label since I started getting into dance music so it was a good step for me. I worked on the EP to do something that reflects what I am and what I like. Mixing vocal tracks with more “dance” and “dub-techno” ones represents well two sides of me. It has been a nice experience.

My future project is still in the works… Just working hard, and continuing to explore different sides of dance music. It’s been taking me some time in the studio so far, but hopefully fall will help me finish the tracks, once the summer craziness is over.

What do you find inspiring and how would you describe your lifestyle?

To be a good DJ or producer, it’s very important to be inspired in every single moment of your life. I love cinema for example, and I think movies’ soundtracks are one of the thing that inspire me in music. I like to imagine tracks that I’m making in the studio being part of the soundtrack of a movie. I think it is one of my dream. But I’m inspired by artists that I see around as well. Music that I listen on the radio, in the vinyl shop.

Everything can inspire you if you pay attention around there. And at the end, that becomes your lifestyle.

What would you probably be today if you hadn’t followed your dreams of being a DJ, or what is your actual dream?

Well, I always had a lot of dreams during my childhood and teenage years. I wanted to be an archaeologist. Then a dancer. Then a fashion stylist.

But to be more realistic, I studied for many years communication and PR. After the University, I did a master for organization of events. I also worked for the cinema. I was in the digital PR of movies, so probably I would be around creating events, or promoting movies on the web.

Artists and events: can you tell us the most interesting that you’ve find in your career until now?

I often find something good in a lot artist I listen to. One of my characteristic is for sure to be very open, even if it  sometimes creates a lot of “confusion” in my head. When you love music there is not really a limit about what you can love. I can love a techno set as much as a deep one or an electronic one as well.

About parties in particular I don’t know… I would say the whole Sonar week. I think it is a big community open to new sound and an amazing event for a lot of different tastes.

The place where you were born, the place where you live, the best place where you traveled with your work: can you tell us something that only you know to describe them?

My city: Florence. Where I live: Rome, for 3 years. But I lived in Milan for 4 years and Berlin for a bit.

But absolutely after traveling for years I can say that I have found “my perfect city”: New York. I think the city reflects what I am and what I love (and I’m not speaking about traffic and hamburgers!). I felt in love with it since the first time I saw it. But for now Rome is not bad.
