Florence is also known for chic shops, always up to date and stylish.

This time, wandering in the italian Cradle of Renaissance’s narrow streets we discovered a new shopping world with interesting, cool and up-to-the-minute shops.

Florence is renewing and the shopping there is just not to be missed. If you leave a bit the very city center you will be pleasantly surprised by the beauty of the sometimes unknown Florentine narrow streets. Finding all these unforgettable shops could be impossible without a guide, and here’s our own very selective one for you:

Luisa Via Roma, Via Roma 19/21 r

luisa-via-roma-firenze

This fashion boutique near the Santa Maria del Fiore’s Dome in Florence, is well known all over the world. The brands they sell are gorgeous, the boutique is visually wonderful and almost everyone walking in Via Roma must look at the shop windows of Luisa. The fashion trends of the season are dictated here. Luisa organizes also a wide variety of fashion events during the year and has also a valuable e-commerce. After an exhausting shopping you can also relax yourself at the bar up-stairs.

This shop was founded in 1970. In the beginning the store was focused on innovative, independent designers from the local fashion district in Florence. In the 90s, the store expanded his brand selection with an eye towards international designers, trying to collect the most forward independent looks from all around the world into the two little retail spaces. Today the two stores are ‘über-chic’ international brand laden boutiques, set in an amazingly unpretentious super Italian fun-loud-messy-family-stylish atmosphere. From 2013 they have also the online shop.

gerard

The place for those who love to play with clothes and accessories. Historic shop opened back in 1969. Today interprets the new fashion trends for men and women in line with the evolution of style and personality. A mix of luxury and everyday life, glitz and elegance, with a hint of irony. Gerard just opened his new shop the last summer, this is absolutely wicked.

It aims to provide a fresh offer of emerging clothing brands with a broad selection of photography, art, fashion-magazines, books and design related articles. The name is not inspired by icelandic singer as they prefer to suggest, but the atmosphere is totally nordic and minimal. Sometimes, you can even sit on the window steps to enjoy a drink in the “aperitivo” happy hour.

They are defined as a happily independent eyewear store opened by two very visionary people, brother & sister, based in the charming district of San Frediano. The ethos when you enter is: “Open your mind, and your eyes too!”. They focus on international contemporary brands, but also on small companies that produce “unknown” collections they just adore. They think that working with passion, and making something that makes you feel good, is cool, modern, and innovative. If you’re thinking about a new pair of glasses you should go there! Please, don’t even consider a big chain, thanks.
