Lights Up on Turin for the 13th edition of Alfa MiTo Club To Club

Imagine this festival in another town, no way at all. Right?

Turin, with its architecture and its atmosphere, fits perfectly the electronic essence of Club To Club Festival. Defined by Resident Advisor (the most influent electronic magazine) “the Best Electronic Music Festival of the season” for the fifth year in a row, #C2C13 took place in Turin from 7th to 10th November 2013 during the contemporary art week (in the same days as ARTissima and LuciD’Artista), and lighted up the scene once again.

TWINS was the theme chosen for 2013, just to symbolize the desire to team #C2C13 up to other festivals and very important artistic networks. Beside all of that, the previews of the festival that took place in London and Milan. This is what happened: “12 Italian exclusives, an European premiere, 5 Italians premiere, over 50 artists from all over the world in extraordinary locations, made Alfa MiTo C2C one of the most successful events in Europe”. #C2C13 invited us to enjoy the Gran Finale at the Lingotto Fiere space (ex FIAT building) on Saturday 9th for the whole night and it is a big pleasure for us to share with all of you guys our spectacular night.

The line-up is among the best we have ever seen, featuring artists who represents the very best of contemporary electronic music. Four Tet, Fuck Buttons, Modeselektor, Machinedrum, John Talabot, Kode9, Rustie, Diamond Version, Julio Bashmore, Ben UFO and many more. All them have shaken our crazy night up.

At 9 pm, John Talabot let the dance begin warmed our night up on the floor, then Fuck Buttons bursted our eardrums with an incredible audio-visual live followed by the pulsating light images sent on the back led, presenting their new album ‘Slow Focus’.

At midnight, FourTet finally took control of the stage with a very huge performance: sophisticated and unique, he met exactly our big expectations.

Diamond Version and Modeselektor did also a great job making a very explosive set on the main stage. Diamond Version with their scratched techno set were the right transit from the soft Four Tet to the German duo Modeselektor.

Meanwhile, in the Sala Rossa – presented by Red Bull Music Academy Kode9 lighted up the floor mixing scratched sound of bassline, dubstep and hip-hop closing the set with TNGHT song ‘Higher Ground’ and, we are sincere, the caliber of acts in both rooms often made the choosing between stages a difficult task.

Fortunately all the sets duration was about 1 hour and half each, this gave us the chance to switch room often. The line up on the main stage was huge and we did not want to miss a set, but the Sala Rossa has been a big surprise and we appreciated some Italian dj that warmed up the clubbers before Kode9 and Rustie, between all big up for Vaghe Stelle.

After Kode9, Rustie took control behind the desk in the Sala Rossa and we really loved the set: with his 80’s pop and futuristic sound , definitely did an amazing job, then, Machinedrum, gave us another preview of his Vapor City audio-visual show.

Julio Bashmore and Ben UFO closed the night on the main stage at 5am, while Andy Stott opened the morning at 5:30am in the Sala Rossa with the last set right before coming back home to have breakfast.

This edition confirmed #C2C as a truly assurance amongst Italian and international electronic music festivals.

They promised 4 nights of no-stop music and they just did it. All the DJs did an amazing mash-up from a set to the next creating an hypnotic sensation. This hypnosis sense characterized the atmosphere of the entire Festival. The concept was near the one behind the so notorious Boiler Room. That’s why we recommend you this Festival for the next year, we are pretty sure that once again they will not get wrong.
